The overgrown path 150m to the west of my ringing station

There has been a lack of maintenance so far this year and the paths at SML desperately need cutting. Pushing through this lot at dawn, when the vegetation is wet with dew is a damp and unpleasant experience. Fortunately, I take responsibility for the upkeep of the the net rides and have kept them clear. 33 birds were trapped, including the first juvenile Chiffchaffs, Robin and Wren of the year. Totals included: 3 Blackbird, 4 Blackcap, 1 Blue Tit, 1 Carrion Crow, 1 Cettis’ Warbler, 5 Chiffchaff, 1 Dunnock, 2 Reed Warbler, 4 Robin, 6 Sedge Warbler, 1 Song Thrush, 2 Swallow and 2 Wren.
